China Day Twelve - Hong Kong / Victoria's Peak

HONG KONG 6898

The next morning, before heading out to work, we went to the mall that was connected to the hotel to find an ATM. They had all these bridal shops in there along with these cartoony props. I think that you could rent these for your wedding or something...

We also saw a giant LEGO figure:

After work, we hailed another taxi to once again take us to the ferry station. We crossed VICTORIA HARBOUR in anticipation of more adventure:

As I took a picture of Missy on the ferry, so did this Chinese dude with his phone...Missy is a celebrity even in Hong Kong!

At the CENTRAL PIER, Missy stopped for a belgian waffle break:

Missy stopped to pose with DA DOLCE:

We took a taxi to the PEAK TRAM station. Our plan was to take the tram to the top of VICTORIA'S PEAK for the best view of Hong Kong:

When we got to the station at the top of the peak, we found ourselves in a giant shopping mall with cliché tourist spots like a MADAME TOUSSAUDS wax museum and a BUBBA GUMP restaurant. We met the legendary BRUCE LEE in front of Madame Toussauds and Missy and Travel Kitty took pictures with him:

We ascended the many levels of the mall, making our way to the SKY TERRACE at the top of the building:

The view of Hong Kong and Victoria Harbour from the Sky Terrace was spectacular...and foggy! But spectacular nonetheless:

We decided to head back down and explore the rest of the peak:

We got gelato at this Italian food place that had magic spaghetti:

Missy and I had spotted these pagodas on the side of the mountain teeming with tourists...of course we had to go check it out for ourselves:

This lady asked Missy to take her picture for her...I guess Missy is the go-to person if you need your picture taken at a tourist spot:

We spotted another couple taking their wedding photos:

After hiking all around the top of the peak we decided it was time again to make our way back to Kowloon:

We asked a cab driver to take us to Central Pier, but he suggested we take the bus instead, which was cheaper. I'm glad we did, because the next bus that came along just happened to be an open-air double-decker bus!

The bus drove by the A BATHING APE boutique. I wished that we could get off to look inside the store but...oh well. Next Time:

Before we went up Victoria's Peak, I had stopped into this camera store to buy another memory card...while we were on the peak, Missy's camera ran out of memory. She decided to buy herself an extra card as well, before we boarded the Star Ferry:
